Yep, never fails - relaxing quiet dinner here last night. Excellent chicken Green Curry, Pad Thais and couple of beers with the family. Friendly service as always.
Henry & Sons Ltd (Brent) did our windows a couple of years ago (and neighbours) - hardwood, double glazed sash windows upstairs and down. Very efficient and friendly service. They're still looking good.
Another tasty dinner at the Granary this evening. We had the summer rolls, Panang chicken, duck curry (with lychees) and a bottle of Rioja; which was all really good value. Friendly service as always. Will be back again...
It was sad when Prospero's closed: it always had a lot of unusual books that made you stop and think (and sometimes buy). Whilst clearly a big chain, I'm personally very happy to see this recent addition to Crouch End... perhaps we might start to s…
Visited last weekend for a late lunch. Food and service were great. We tried the fish cakes to start and curries for mains (mussaman and penangs). All were spot on and just what we were after on such a cold day!
Recommended. Hope they do well!
We have been to Vittorio's a few times now and must say they are a welcome addition to SGR. Tasty meats and decent cheeses too. We also like their breads - all reasonably priced and friendly service.
Hope they make a go of it!
Henry & Sons Ltd (Brent) did our windows last year (and neighbours) - hardwood sash windows upstairs and down. Very efficient and friendly service. A year later, they're still looking good. Very pleased.
Agreed @checkski. We had a miserable weekend with the constant drum beat all weekend and people running around and/or shouting in the street. We live at the top end of SGR and had to close the windows - I hate to think of the poor souls nearer the p…
Given the positive reviews we visited Y&Y this evening for a take away...
Nice decor and all immaculately clean. The staff were very friendly too. Food was fabulous and far better quality than the usual curry-house fair: good sized portions and …
I agree with you quince - it's an armpit and has been a total shambles of a store for years.
It looks like its been in need of a clean-up since the '70s and where's their stock control? Last week my wife couldn't get semi-skimmed milk there; a few …
Thankfully never known anyone mugged outside the FP tube, although like any tube I guess it's a hot spot for that sort of thing. Best not to be too wave your latest iphone about. The number of brainless phone users who struggle to 'multi-task' (i.e…
Our original ISP was bought out by Talk Talk a year or so ago. Our experiences have not been good. Performance is ok but if anything goes wrong - e.g. there's an outage - then you're in the hands of their overseas call centres... prepare to enter a …
We moved to Stroud Green about 12 years ago, buying a house on MPC. Our personal views are:

Thanks Ana. What a good community contribution from Budgens.
Shame on Haringey council: next they'll be charging toddlers for selling lemonade outside their houses in summer.
Thanks Arkady. It's a wonderful little building and adds some historical character amongst some rather run down shops. Unfortunately another shop with a set of flats above would pack-in a few more tax payers; so I doubt it have much difficulty getti…
@gardener-joe - thanks for this - we've just had another jumbo wheelie bin 'dumped' in our little front garden (trashing our flowers to squeeze it in). The old recycling box was just right for our small family but now our garden is looking like a wh…
