Monosyllabic grumpy barman/manager. Music that my dad would've rejected as bad. It just didn't feel like the Noble, and was pretty empty (seemed like everybody had gone to the Stapleton).
Hopefully we just caught it at a bad moment.
I've done lots of reverse commutes over the years, including Watford, and it was certainly one of the better ones. Just a few stops on the Viccy line and a fast train to Watford Junction.
Much depends on the journey at the other end though.
Went in the Larrick/Stapleton on BH Monday and it wasn't bad. It's obviously not finished, and there was a bit of a limited beer choice, but it certainly felt better than previous visits. We noticed the improved music too.
I also used to live in the area about 20yrs ago (eek), and it wasn't unusual to see the odd bit of kerb crawling. The Brownswood Road chicane was the usual spot, as cars naturally slowed down there.
Is the accordian shop still there?
The T-shirt Rule has always existed - just as r_c explained. Nobody ever tells you the rule; you just absorb it over the years.

I've had success with Parmesan cheese, chocolate (especially Rolos) and shortbread in old fashioned snap traps. As well as peanut butter, I've heard that vanilla essence on a bit of cotton wool works well, but haven't tried it myself.
