Location, location.....

As previously mentioned I'm getting a new website portrait photo done and now I'm looking for a location, preferably in Stroud Green.

I was thinking of something in the currently popular style, three quarter lenth portrait against an 'interesting' background very sharply rendered .... old brickwork, shabby-chic peeling woodwork, railings, tree trunk, etc. Direct to camera, a bit moody and expressive. Uncluttered. Take a look in a magazine, you see them all the time.

Anybody got any suggestions for bits of wall, old garage doors or otherlikely close-up backgrounds in Stroud Green? I'm not a musician or an actor by the way, and I want to suggest intelligent and cultured, good with words and ideas, not artsy-fartsy. I think I've found a press /magazine photographer do the job, by the way.

I'd suggest the black painted wall by Old Dairy's bin chamber on Hanley Road, good natural light. I often see the chef's standing there on their break, and think it looks like a shoot for a Sat weekend mag... honestly!

@beek - good idea. I might check out the mews beside the Larrik and a few other alleys that might offer interesting tat (if not too dark).

@ian - I reckon house style is *staring at half eaten plate of food in local eaterie and looking pissed off".

If you're looking for interesting tat, I have a good friend whose house fits the bill perfectly. If I see him in the pub I'll give it a mention.

I did get the pictures done, under the bridge at FPS as it happens, but they turned out to be useless. Back to square one.

The photographer. He did it too close, so it was head and shoulders, not really the idea at all. My fault. He was cheap anyway.
