Just a quick update: I got the dates wrong. The ride to Epping Forest is on this next weekend on the 11/12. So far it'll be Peter Crumb and I, Sutent won't be able to come due to other commitments.

Anyone else up for it? When would suit you better?
Of course we're cycling there and back. :-) No idea how long it takes, if it's too long, we can decide to turn around.
You cycle to work every day, don't you? I'm not really super fit, so don't worry.
Just looked at the weather forecast: it shows a sunny Saturday at 8 degrees, so I'll aim for Saturday. No idea re route. As I said many times before: I'm useless as a guide.
I do cycle to work but it's only 3.5 miles! Got some bad news I'm afraid - I'm a trainee primary teacher and I'm being observed on monday. After 5 weeks of no teaching I'm going to need the weekend to prepare so won't be able to make it I'm afraid.
I wouldn't have been able to come this weekend anyway. After spending about half an hour desperately trying to get my tire off, I eventually managed it but then realised I'd bought the wrong size inner tube! Have ordered a new one which hopefully will come soon. God knows how long it'll take me to get it on though!
Well, you could give me a shout and I could help you. Also when it comes to tyres and tubes. I'm here, just ask me. :-) If I don't know the answer, I know people who will know.

Went to Battersea today (to the bike shop I'll have an interview with next week) just to introduce myself and make the most of the weather, and made it in 50 minutes. Was a great ride and the shop owner took my Viscount for a spin and was impressed. Ha!
Stopped at Micycle Liverpool Rd. on the way back(when it started to rain), had a chat with Ben who I know from Micycle Ferme Park Rd. and then Brian from Ferme Park Rd. popped in, grinning to see me there. So we rode back together. Bike shops--you gotta love them.

Oh, a motor bike did something stupid (and potentially dangerous) today: I waited in the bike box, wanting to go straight ahead, and the motorbike stopped to my right, already in an angle. I knew he wanted to go left. Come green, instead of waiting for me to pass him, he just cut in front of me.

Contrary to my rule bending: I jumped a red light going left, no car, no cyclist coming from the right. So despite that motorist having green, he endangered me. Had I been faster, he'd had run me over. Again, not saying going through red is right, but at least I didn't put anyone in danger.
By the way, Detritus, did you cycle along Liverpool Rd. this afternoon? There was a bloke in front of us, who could have been you, but I wasn't sure and we turned right a short while after.
The mystery person was Brian from Micycle. He popped into Micycle Liverpool Rd. (where I sought shelter from the rain) to pick something up so we went back together to Ferme Park Rd. The guys and I have become some sort of friends. Love the relaxed atmosphere at their shop.
Guvnors Assembly just posted a link to the National Cycle Museum on twitter http://www.cyclemuseum.org.uk/
I didn't know there was one. Shame it's in far, far away.
My friend figured it's because of people got bikes for Christmas and I think lots has to do with new year's resolutions, plus people were waiting for the 'real' cold to set in. Didn't come, so they cycle.
Hope it won't come. Love the weather as it is.
Beautiful day today. Went to Hampstead Heath, but learned it's not a great park to cycle. Far too many people walking about. Glad, though, that I managed the hills.
Watch out, Sutent, you'll be surprised how much I've improved.
Then went to Camden and did a bit of HIIT on the out circle. Got lost on my way back. sigh

Nice two hours of riding in the sun. Love it!
