The five year contract was for for less money each year than before (something fishy you might say) and in spite of the money they get the park is in worse condition that it has been for a long time.
The festival goers were ripped off with such high ticket prices on top of the damage to Park/ecology, streets tube unusable, noise, crime the list goes on. The council needs to be sent a strong message: https://www.change.org/p/hands-off-our-park
I’m answer to those people who claim there is no other suitable places the Park Friends did some research and found a number of purpose built venues (the promoters might have to pay a market price of course)
I’ve heard a few good things about Luke - he was pushing for the council to use extra government money during the pandemic for here in Stroud Green. Never good to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Looks like Stroud green Labour have chosen their candidates Clr Culverwell continues - he is desperate to become Mayor so hangs on - the other two seem to be Momentum choices - would love to have been a fly on the wall when that was sorted out. Our…
These oversized events mean that half of the park is fenced off for weeks and weeks in the summer when it’s needed the most, cause damage, anti social behaviour disrupt our transport and local businesses so no Thankyou. Organisers have been prevent…
Labour has now barred the Ex Leader of Haringey Council from standing which may be connected. Locally Labour councillors have been more or less invisible for months. Even if I was a inclined to vote Labour I would have no idea what I was voting for…
Noticed today a small sign that progress may be starting on the Marks and Spencer site with a couple of boxes with a company label attached inside the area.
Great News that this event has been cancelled - Haringey Councillors should never allowed it to go as far as it did. There was strong opposition from local people and park users (over 1000 people signed the local petition) large number formal objec…
I won’t shed any tears over Wireless moving (hopefully for good). Many local businesses forced to close due to antisocial behaviour making it impossible to trade. Haringey Council were irresponsible in ever allowing such a large event which robbed…
This change seems to be based on ideological grounds rather than quality of service delivery. If they are not consulting all those people directly effected it suggests they fear the results of the consultation.
Both Hackney and Islington put Haringey to shame. Haringey wastes its energy on virtue signalling and infighting. The Corbynite cabal who cling on to power are living in a past that never existed.
This is outrageous - and demonstrates the callous disregard Haringey council has for local residents - I suspect they think they don’t have to worry about Hackney and Islington voters who can’t throw them out. They hung on until the last minute bef…
The loss of this store will have a big impact on many people who use the store and those who work there. The availability of a good selection of grocery items close to so many has been a boon during the lock down.
John Jones was very expensive if you wanted a regular framing service as I found out on the one occasion I used them but I know some serious artists used them for gallery quality work. I loved their art materials shop when it existed - a comprehens…
Definitely agree with you about Woodberry Down and the people in Wood Green who would have on balance benefited from the HDV will continue to wait. Momentum had no real interest in the HDV issue (the protest wasn’t even their initiative - they just…
