Yes it's Jai Krishna - the colours behind give it away. But I would never have got it from the bird. These photos are just proving to me how unobservant I am.
Yes, Jai Krishna. I asked Mr Jai krishna if he knew what it bird it is, but he didn't.
The score so far is: unaesthetic 1, andy 2, arkady 3, missisclack 1, WillM 1. I'm counting correct whispers as well as public posts, but not unsubstantiated cries of 'I know, I know!'
What a quarrelsome competitive lot. @Misscara, 'beak' just isn't good enough. @WillM - Andy got there in a whisper first, but I kept it open for fun.
Has anyone read Brighton Rock (or seen one of the films?) If so you will know about Kolley Kibber. You had to go up to him and identify him with the correct form of words to claim a ten shilling Daily Messenger prize.
if anyone spots me taking a photograph in Stroud Geen and identifies me with the exact words 'You are Krappyrubsniff. I claim the Stroudgreen Dot Org prize.' I will treat them to a pint in the White Lion. It has to be the White Lion.....I admit this could be a disincentive.
I take no responsibility for anyone going up to a passing stranger and saying 'You are Krappy....' and receiving a fistful of knuckles in return.
Ah, but which part of which bridge? I can think of five different railway lines (in use and redundant) pssing through SG / FP, and countless bridges......
I have been whispered a bid for one of the bridges that I will have to consider carefully but I don't think is right....WillM, I think you should post it youself
I think it's the 2nd of the 2 mainline railway bridges on SGR - the one nearer to the Wells Terrace exit. You can tell because of the combination of dark red and dark green paints, which only feature on the SGR and Seven Sisters bridges. Seven Sisters has vertical stripes, whilst the bridge pictured has a raised painted design, distinct to the SGR bridge.
Yes, that's where I thought although I wasn't exactly sure why. I walk under it every night on the way home from work and have noticed the colours and the rather beautiful 'distressed' paint effect.
Will's precise description and explanation are very much better than my vagueness though, if we are both right he should certainly get the prize.

I've had one correct answer. So WillM gets it. Who else?

Rather a nice study in urban decay, I thought.
