For those of you out there the last of the old Victoria Line Trains have there last runs on Thursday 30th June. Watch out for Train no 247 as it is the last one and will be running in the evening rush hour. It finishes it’s last journey at about 7.30 pm at Seven Sisters

Yeah I’ll be catching it from Pimlico! In other (less SG-relevant) train-geek news, the DLR extension to Stratford International finally opens on July 4th, so we’ll be getting an updated tube map. @dorothy - yes, because it's on HS1 to Paris, as opposed to the old Stratford station or the new Stratford High Street. It is a bit of stretch though, I agree.

I hear the Chinese may be interested in build HS 2. Could probably do a good job as they are building 100,000 Kms worth of high speed rail. Puts our little effort to Brum and all the fuss into perspective

I like the fact you can't actually go anywhere 'international' from Stratford International. The closest you get is heading to London City Airport...

Indeed. Understandable pre-Olympics, but now they won’t be stopping during the Olympics either as they’re putting on the Javelin service instead. I think the Germans offered to stop their sweeten their bid to have access to the channel tunnel, but I don’t think anything has come of that yet.

Yes that should be good. Some of the stations between Romford and Startford are in great need of a lick of orange paint. Will also be good for their economy. Some really poor areas there
