I hear that Cross Rail is to be called the Elizabeth Line.

The Queen was around Bond Street today when Boris anounced this.

I think I will call it the Brenda line

Lovely colour.
I won't bore you all (again), with my views on Her Majesty but I'm delighted about this. Softens the blow of the utter devastion of St Giles and the unholy mess and disruption of one of my old favourite parts of town over the past few years.

It looks lovely. Is the Cauliflower still the same at Seven Kings @Sutent?

No one seems to have a problem with Victoria Line, you'll all get used to the Elizabeth Line eventually..

At least the Queen doesn't dissolve Parliament whenever she disagrees with it, unlike the hypocrite Cromwell. She's also been pretty good about keeping genocide of the Irish to a minimum.
Or add on the 210, from the shared stop at the bottom of Highgate Hill, to the last stop, outside Gadz. Perfect. I travel that way to and from Belize Park 3 or 4 times a week, to my beloved University of the 3rd Age (anyone 60+out there? You should give it a try). Occasionally by train, in the past, Hampstead Heath - Gospel Oak - Childs Hill, which is quicker, but I like buses, and am not usually I
The one disappointing thing is that TfL did not convince NR to be less conservative on how long it takes to do the work. On main lines like Great Western they are doing far more work with closures more like 5 or 6 weeks rather than 9 months. It's a bit like getting the builder around your house and then finding just one guy doing all the work rather than a small team!
Oh well, it will be worth it at the end - just a shame the rail industry is not particularly proactive.
@maclondon yeah it definitely could have been done quicker, think TfL were just excited that Network Rail were going to find a scheme which provides a major benefit to TfL services.

The big difference with GWML electrification is that GOBLIN is through an urban area with quite substantial restrictions on night working.
