No, I think they mean the main staircases down to the underground. Presumably they will shut one southbound/northbound staircase at a time so the station will still be accessible, albeit with more queues.
My reading is it's the main stairs you access from the Wells Terrace - Station Place corridor but I'm not sure. I really hope they can get there act together and do the work at the same time.<br>
<font face="Arial, Verdana"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: normal;">Interesting article in the Tribune about the fate of the shops in Finsbury Park Station arches. True that there are real water ingress problems that need fixing. That would be typical: <div><br><div>Small businesses spend years making rundown area better with their presence.</div></div><div>Area gets redeveloped, small businesses get priced out with no word of thanks.</div><div><br></div>

It looks like the work is due to be carried out later this year.</span></font></div>
Not cancelled as far as we know. They are appointing a new contractor after the last deal mysteriously fell through.<div>Given that they have already sold many (all?) of the flats I doubt there will be a cancellation.</div>
It also has planning permission and a material start has been made (I assume), I don't think they would get planning permission for anything bigger on this site so expect it will be built.<br>
They sell them in phases. It isn't in the developers interest to sell them all years before completion.<div><br></div><div>During the launch I believe they had about 50 properties for sale, but judging by the listings on Right Move some buyers/investors requested flats which weren't on the price list.</div><div><br></div>
According to the FT, the assorted Nine Elms developments are seeing a wave of 'flat flipping' - investors trying to sell unbuilt properties they have previously bought/put down deposits on. <div><br></div><div>What's always puzzled me about City North is why would people would choose to pay a premium to live in a new build directly on top of Finsbury Park station when they could both buy for less and live in greater style within a half mile radius. Perhaps a little bit of rationality has re-entered the market.</div><div><br></div><div>(Although one advantage may be that City North is the one place from which you won't be able to see, um, City North. It's the rest of us who'll have to put up with that).</div>
Developers do like to get their phases sold and get plenty banked early as possible - maybe that's not gone to plan. <div>There is a glut of new build expensive London property coming through - that has to filter down to less expensive developments.</div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-09-08/luxury-homes-unsold-after-a-year-seen-showing-south-london-glut">Here's a report on Battersea</a></div><div><br><div><br></div></div>
Small update.<div><br></div><div>Portacabins have arrived, but they are actually TFL people on site. Basically they will be doing the work for the new tube entrance before work on the scheme can proceed. That work is expected to be completed by June 2016.</div><div><br></div><div>Once done, the City North building work will begin</div><div><br></div>
My initial thoughts were: 'that's not a lot of gates for quite a lot of people'.<div>had to use the Tube this morning and yesterday and it was fine.</div><div>Suspect when it is really busy might be a bit of a squeeze.</div>
